Katana Sword

Hand-forged katanas built on the traditional Japanese pattern. The curve of a katana comes from differential hardening, where the edge cools faster than the spine and the blade bends as it quenches, which is why a properly made one has a visible hamon line. Blades here are full tang with rayskin-wrapped handles and cord ito, fitted with a lacquered saya. Both display pieces and functional cutting swords are available, so check the specification if you intend to use one on tatami.
