Description
One piece of steel, ten inches long, hammered out and left with the marks of the hammer on it. The handle is not a separate part bolted on — it is the same bar as the blade, drawn down, twisted and cut with runes. That is a different way of making a knife from almost everything else on this site.

Its role: a display and ceremony piece with real edge geometry behind it. People buy this for anniversaries, for a mantelpiece, for somebody with an interest in Norse work, and a fair number of them never cut anything with it at all. It will cut if you ask it to.
An all-steel handle, for better and worse
There is nothing to come loose, because there is nothing joined. No scales to shrink, no pins to work proud, no glue line to fail. It is the most durable handle construction there is. It is also the least comfortable. Steel is cold in January and hot in a car in August, it transmits every shock straight into your palm, and it offers no give at all across a long session of cutting. The engraved runes help more than you would expect here — cut texture is what gives your hand something to hold, and a smooth steel grip would be far worse. Wrapping the grip in leather cord is a common and sensible modification.
What the weight tells you
Just over six ounces on a ten-inch knife is light. The mass is spread along the whole bar instead of being concentrated in a thick handle, so it balances near the middle and feels quick rather than heavy. That is a dagger’s balance, not a chopper’s. Do not treat it as an axe.
Keeping it right: the whole knife is bare steel, handle included, and that means the part you hold is also the part that rusts. Skin oil and sweat are the actual enemy here, not rain. Wipe the entire thing down after handling, not just the blade. Run a rag with a trace of oil over the runes, since cut letters hold moisture in their corners and that is where the first orange speck always appears. A forged surface takes a patina quickly and looks better for it; a patina is not rust and does not need removing. Keep it out of the leather sheath when it is on display.
Worth knowing before you buy
Is it sharpened? Yes. It leaves the shop with a cutting edge and a finished point.
Can the runes be changed? The runework is cut before the knife is finished, so it is what you see. Engraving on the blade is a separate paid option at checkout.
Is a dagger legal to carry where I live? Double-edged blades are restricted in several states and cities.
