A neck knife is the knife you have when you are not carrying a knife. Small, light, worn on a cord under a shirt in a friction-fit sheath, drawn with one hand. It is not meant to replace a belt knife. It is meant to be the one that is always actually there.Size. Blades run about two to three and a half inches, overall five to seven. Past that the weight starts pulling on the cord and you stop wearing it, which defeats the point.Sheath. Retention is everything on a neck knife. Ours are fitted leather that grips the blade on friction alone, so it stays put when you bend over but comes free with a straight pull.Ours. Hand-forged 1095 and 15n20 Damascus or 440C stainless at 58 to 60 HRC, full tang, skeletonised or scaled depending on the model.Is a neck knife comfortable? Under a shirt, once the cord length is right, you stop noticing it. Too long a cord and it swings; too short and it rides on the collarbone.Damascus or stainless? The neck sheath is the whole point
A neck knife is defined by how it carries, so the sheath matters more here than on any other fixed blade. Every neck knife ships with a hand-stitched leather neck sheath included: full-grain cowhide, waxed saddle stitch, a welted edge, and a friction fit tight enough that the knife stays put when you bend over a truck bed. Ball-chain and paracord lanyards are both supplied so you can pick your own break-away tolerance.
It carries three ways without modification: around the neck under a shirt, clipped inside a pack strap, or dropped in a pocket as a slip sheath. Ask and we will punch it for horizontal belt carry instead.
Does the neck knife come with a sheath? Yes. A hand-stitched leather neck sheath is included, along with both a ball chain and a paracord lanyard.
Will the knife fall out of the neck sheath? No. The leather is wet-formed to the blade for a friction fit, so it holds upside down. If it ever loosens with age, a minute over steam and a re-form fixes it.
How heavy is a neck knife to wear all day? Most of ours run between three and five ounces with the sheath on. You forget it is there by the second hour.
Can I wear it on a belt instead? Yes, ask us to punch the sheath for horizontal belt carry before it ships.
