Description
Nine inches overall, split down the middle: a 4.5-inch blade and a 4.5-inch handle. That handle is wood with real turquoise spacers and a Damascus steel bolster, which puts three different materials against your palm and gives the knife more in common with Southwestern silverwork than with anything tactical.

Working role: hunting and skinning, at a blade length that suits deer and hog, with a profile that keeps the tip usable for detail cuts. A hand-stitched leather sheath comes with it and this is a belt knife by design.
An even split does something specific
Blade and handle at the same length puts the balance point at or near the guard. Hold it and the knife feels neutral. That balance is right for a skinner, where you make controlled low-force strokes for long stretches. It is wrong for chopping, which wants mass out front.
Turquoise spacers are stone, and stone chips
These are real turquoise rather than resin imitation, so they carry the variation of the mineral: matrix veining, tone from pale sky to deep blue-green, sometimes a fleck of host rock. They also behave like stone: turquoise is soft as gemstones go, and porous. Sharp impact against a hard surface will chip a spacer, and solvents darken it over years. Wipe it with a barely damp cloth and keep oil off it deliberately. Handled normally it looks the same in twenty years.
Damascus bolster, wood body
The bolster is pattern-welded and etched like the blade, so it slowly loses contrast with handling and can be brought back with a re-etch. The wood between the spacers darkens with skin oil and takes on a hand-worn sheen. Three materials aging at three rates is the appeal for some owners and an irritation for others. If you prefer a grip that stays uniform, choose a single material.
Steel care: our table lists no weight for this model, so if that number matters to your carry setup, ask before ordering rather than assuming. What we can tell you is that the blade is high-carbon Damascus and it corrodes if neglected. Clean it after game work, because blood is the worst thing to leave on it, dry it completely, then give the flats a thin coat of oil before it goes away. Keep the knife out of the leather in storage. Will the turquoise look like the photo? Close, but not identical. Natural stone varies in matrix and tone piece to piece.
Is a fixed blade right for me? If you dress game, usually yes, because there is nothing to fail and nothing to clean out. If you want something to keep in a pocket, a folding knife with a turquoise handle covers the same look in a carry-friendly format.
Can the spacers be replaced? Yes, though it means dismantling the handle. Send it back for a quote.
