The Native American takes its name from the Wind & Mix twist Fire pattern that surfaces as the blade is forged and etched — no two ever come out the same. Underneath the pattern is a straightforward proposition: a nine inch stag antler skinner with a brass guard, sized and shaped for one job and very good at it.

Built for skinning
This knife was drawn for skinning deer and hogs cleanly without nicking the hide. The four and a half inch blade sweeps into a broad belly that keeps long, even strokes going instead of forcing you to reset every few inches, and the upswept tip rides above the membrane rather than digging into it. The handle stays controllable when wet, which is the part people underestimate until the first time their grip slips. Stag antler and brass
Crown stag is the handle material, chosen because its natural ridges are effectively a texture pattern nature already cut for you. Ahead of the antler sits a brass guard, and behind it a stacked band of red, blue and black spacers under a brass pommel — a small piece of color that makes each of these easy to tell apart on a rack. Antler varies in tone from bone white to deep amber, and the piece you receive will not match the photograph tooth for tooth, because it grew rather than being molded.
Twist pattern, hand forged
Twisting the billet before drawing it down is what produces the flowing, wind-blown figure across the flats. The bar is high-carbon, welded in layers, hardened and tempered in oil, then etched so the two alloys separate visually. Because the twist rate and the grind interact unpredictably, the surfacing figure is genuinely unique to each blade — the same reason no two pieces of burl cut the same way.

Every knife leaves with a hand-stitched leather sheath, saddle-stitched in contrasting thread with a brass snap at the retention strap. After the work is done
Clean it before the blood dries, because protein sets hard and acids in it will mark carbon steel quickly. Warm water, a soft cloth, dry it fully, then a light protective oil across the flats.
