Ironfist is the working Damascus. Black canvas Micarta on the T-grip, brass pins and a thin brass spacer where the handle meets the tang, and a hand-forged Damascus spear point above it with the ricasso worked by file. Handsome enough to collect, tough enough not to worry about.
Double-edged with a centre fuller, full tang through the grip, both edges sharpened by hand. Micarta is the handle material to choose if the knife is going to live in a pack or a pocket rather than a case.

Care: Damascus is a high-carbon steel and will spot or patina if it is put away wet. Wipe both edges dry after every use and keep a light film of mineral or camellia oil on the blade, which also keeps the etched pattern crisp. Micarta and G10 need almost nothing — soap and water and they are done. The brass will darken to a warm patina over time; polish it if you prefer it bright. Do not store the knife inside the leather sheath for long periods.

What is a push dagger?
A short double-edged blade set at ninety degrees to a T-shaped handle. The grip sits across your palm with the blade between your middle and ring fingers, so the force comes from the whole arm rather than the wrist. It is the most secure way there is to hold a small blade — it cannot twist or be pulled out of the hand.

Is the leather sheath included?
Yes. The black leather sheath with a brass stud shown in the photograph is moulded to this blade. It ships with the knife at no extra cost.
How do I sharpen a double-edged blade?
Treat each edge separately, keeping the same angle on both sides of each bevel, and work from the ricasso to the point in short sections. A small stone or ceramic rod is easier than a full bench stone on a blade this size.
Can I actually use a Damascus blade, or is it for show?
Use it. The pattern comes from forge-welding different steels together; the finished blade is hardened, ground and sharpened like any other. It simply asks to be kept dry and lightly oiled.
How tough is Micarta?
Extremely. Micarta is layered canvas set in resin: it will not swell, crack, warp or rot, it shrugs off water, oil and solvents, and the texture grips better when wet.
Will my knife look exactly like the photograph?
No — every Damascus billet etches into a different pattern. The shape, dimensions and build will match.
