Description
Trenchline is named for where this shape earned its reputation — push daggers were issued and privately bought by soldiers in the First World War, when a blade you could not drop in the mud mattered more than reach. This one is the modern version: D2 tumbled to a stonewashed grey with no glare in it, on bolted olive green Micarta.
The blade is a double-edged spear point with a centre fuller. Because the grip crosses the palm, the force comes from the whole arm, and the knife cannot rotate or be pulled out of your hand however wet it gets.

Built for: lawful everyday carry where the pattern is permitted, collectors, and hard use in wet or cold conditions. Read the legality note below before ordering.
Care: D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel — highly rust resistant but not rust proof. Wipe the blade dry after use and oil it lightly before long storage. Micarta and G10 need almost nothing — soap and water and they are done. Check the handle screws are snug now and then. Do not store the knife inside the leather sheath for long periods.
FAQs
What is a push dagger?
A short double-edged blade set at ninety degrees to a T-shaped handle. The grip sits across your palm with the blade between your middle and ring fingers, so the force comes from the whole arm rather than the wrist. It is the most secure way there is to hold a small blade — it cannot twist or be pulled out of the hand.
⚠ Is a push dagger legal where I live?
Check before you order. Push daggers are restricted or prohibited in a number of US states and cities, and in many countries outside the US, more tightly than ordinary fixed blades. Laws vary and change. It is the buyer’s responsibility to confirm local law before purchase or carry.
Is the leather sheath included?
Yes. The black leather sheath with a brass stud shown in the photograph is moulded to this blade. It ships with the knife at no extra cost.
How do I sharpen a double-edged blade?
Treat each edge separately, keeping the same angle on both sides of each bevel, and work from the ricasso to the point in short sections. A small stone or ceramic rod is easier than a full bench stone on a blade this size.
What is a stonewashed finish?
The blade is tumbled with abrasive media, leaving a soft grey surface with a fine random texture. It throws no glare, and marks from use blend into it instead of showing as bright scratches.
How tough is Micarta?
Extremely. Micarta and G10 are layered canvas or fibreglass set in resin: they will not swell, crack, warp or rot, they shrug off water, oil and solvents, and the texture grips better when wet.
How good is D2 for a small fixed blade?
Very good. D2 runs around 58–60 HRC and holds an edge far longer than the stainless most small knives use. It is semi-stainless rather than fully stainless, so keep it dry.
