Description
Violet Hour is named for the last light of the day, which is roughly the colour of the handle — deep violet resin poured by hand so the darker veins run differently through every one. Thin white liners separate it from the tang and pick up the white of the sheath.
The blade is a straight-back drop point: the spine runs level almost to the end before dropping, which keeps the edge long and flat and makes the knife very steady on a board or against a surface.

Built for: everyday carry, kitchen and camp prep, craft work and general utility cutting. The straight edge is easy to sharpen and easy to control.
Care: D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel — highly rust resistant but not rust proof. Wipe the blade dry after use and oil it lightly before long storage. Resin is waterproof and will not crack or shrink — wipe it with a damp cloth; avoid solvents and abrasives, which dull the polish. Keep the white leather sheath out of prolonged wet and do not store the knife inside it for long periods.
FAQs
Is this knife only for women?
No. It is built on a smaller handle with a lighter, thinner blade, which suits smaller hands and lighter carry — a lot of people prefer that regardless. Buy it on grip size and blade length rather than on the label.
Is the white leather sheath practical?
Yes. It is full-grain leather, hand stitched and moulded to this blade. Like any pale leather it will mark and mellow with handling; most owners think that improves it. Keep it out of prolonged wet and it will last for years.
Is the blade full size and full strength?
Yes. Smaller does not mean lighter duty — same steel, same heat treatment, same hand sharpening as every other knife we make. It is a small knife, not a toy.
What is a straight-back blade good for?
The flat spine and long straight edge give you full contact with a board or surface, so it slices cleanly and does not rock. It is also one of the easiest shapes to sharpen well.
What exactly is the resin handle?
Hand-poured and cured resin, stabilised and machined in house. It is completely waterproof, will not crack, shrink or absorb moisture, and every pour sets with its own swirl and depth — so no two handles come out the same.
