Description
Amethyst Tide is poured, not cut. The scales are hand-poured violet resin, cured and machined in house, so the darker purple runs through the block in swirls that break differently on every single knife. Blue anodised hardware and a blue titanium clip pick the cooler tones out of it.
The blade is a modified wharncliffe in 14C28N, stonewashed to a soft grey — a straight edge running to a fine tip, which is the most precise shape for opening, trimming and detail work. Liner lock, phosphor bronze washers, manual thumb stud.

Built for: everyday carry, opening post and packaging, craft and hobby work, travel and light kitchen tasks. Resin is completely waterproof, so it does not care about weather at all.
Care: 14C28N is a true stainless steel — it needs very little, but wipe it dry after wet use anyway. Resin wipes clean with a damp cloth; avoid solvents and abrasives, which dull the polish. Put a drop of light oil on the pivot once or twice a year and check the body screws are snug.
FAQs
Is this knife spring assisted?
No — and that is deliberate. There is no spring and no flipper. You open it with the thumb stud, by hand. What makes it feel quick is the pivot: phosphor bronze washers on both sides of the blade, hand-fitted so the action stays smooth and consistent. A manual knife is also legal in far more places than an assisted one.
What is a liner lock and is it secure?
One side of the steel liner is cut so it springs across behind the blade tang when the knife is fully open, blocking it from closing. To shut it you push the liner aside with your thumb and fold the blade. It is the standard lock on quality folders because it is strong, simple and easy to work one-handed.
Is it sharp out of the box?
Razor sharp. Every blade is hand sharpened and stropped before it is boxed.
Does it come with anything?
Yes — a hand-stitched white leather slip pouch, made in the shop to fit this knife closed. A pouch rather than a belt sheath, which suits a folder that lives in a bag or pocket.
Is this only for women?
No. It is built on a slimmer, shorter frame that suits smaller hands and lighter carry. Buy it on the measurements, not the label.
What exactly is the resin handle?
Hand-poured and cured resin, stabilised and machined in house. It is completely waterproof, will not crack, shrink or absorb moisture, and every pour sets with its own swirl and depth — so no two handles come out the same.
What is 14C28N steel?
A Swedish fine-grain stainless developed for cutlery. It takes a very keen edge, is easy to re-sharpen, and is genuinely stainless — the better everyday choice if you would rather not maintain a blade.
