Rosethorn pairs a hand-forged Damascus spear point with a T-grip of figured rosewood, pinned in brass. The etch runs the full length of both edges and the wood shifts from orange-red to deep chocolate depending which way you turn it — two patterns, neither of them repeatable.
Double-edged with a centre fuller and a fileworked ricasso. The T-grip crosses the palm so the force comes from the arm rather than the wrist, and the knife cannot twist out of the hand.

Care: Damascus is a high-carbon steel and will spot or patina if it is put away wet. Wipe both edges dry after every use and keep a light film of mineral or camellia oil on the blade, which also keeps the etched pattern crisp. Wipe the wood clean with a damp cloth and rub in a little wood wax or oil two or three times a year so it does not dry out. The brass will darken to a warm patina over time; polish it if you prefer it bright. Do not store the knife inside the leather sheath for long periods.

What is a push dagger?
A short double-edged blade set at ninety degrees to a T-shaped handle. The grip sits across your palm with the blade between your middle and ring fingers, so the force comes from the whole arm rather than the wrist. It is the most secure way there is to hold a small blade — it cannot twist or be pulled out of the hand.

Is the leather sheath included?
Yes. The tan leather sheath with a brass stud shown in the photograph is moulded to this blade. It ships with the knife at no extra cost.
How do I sharpen a double-edged blade?
Treat each edge separately, keeping the same angle on both sides of each bevel, and work from the ricasso to the point in short sections. A small stone or ceramic rod is easier than a full bench stone on a blade this size.
Can I actually use a Damascus blade, or is it for show?
Use it. The pattern comes from forge-welding different steels together; the finished blade is hardened, ground and sharpened like any other. It simply asks to be kept dry and lightly oiled.
Will my knife look exactly like the photograph?
No. Every Damascus billet is folded and etched by hand, and wood is a natural material with its own grain. Your knife will share the shape, dimensions and build shown, but the steel and handle will be its own.
Is rosewood a good handle material?
Excellent. Rosewood is dense and naturally oily, so it is stable, hard wearing and resists moisture better than most timbers, and it takes a deep natural polish without any coating. Every handle has its own grain and colour.
