Ravenpoint is the quiet one — a hand-forged Damascus spear point above a T-grip of ebony taken to a deep natural gloss, with no bolster and no brightwork to break the line. Ebony is one of the densest woods there is, which gives a knife this small a surprising, solid weight in the palm.
The blade is double-edged with a centre fuller and a fileworked ricasso, both edges sharpened by hand. Held correctly the grip crosses the palm and the blade sits between the fingers, so the whole arm is behind it.

Care: Damascus is a high-carbon steel and will spot or patina if it is put away wet. Wipe both edges dry after every use and keep a light film of mineral or camellia oil on the blade, which also keeps the etched pattern crisp. Ebony is a dense natural wood: keep it out of prolonged direct sun and standing water and rub a little mineral oil into it once or twice a year. Do not store the knife inside the leather sheath for long periods.

What is a push dagger?
A short double-edged blade set at ninety degrees to a T-shaped handle. The grip sits across your palm with the blade between your middle and ring fingers, so the force comes from the whole arm rather than the wrist. It is the most secure way there is to hold a small blade — it cannot twist or be pulled out of the hand.

Is the leather sheath included?
Yes. The black leather sheath with a brass stud shown in the photograph is moulded to this blade. It ships with the knife at no extra cost.
How do I sharpen a double-edged blade?
Treat each edge separately, keeping the same angle on both sides of each bevel, and work from the ricasso to the point in short sections. A small stone or ceramic rod is easier than a full bench stone on a blade this size.
Can I actually use a Damascus blade, or is it for show?
Use it. The pattern comes from forge-welding different steels together; the finished blade is hardened, ground and sharpened like any other. It simply asks to be kept dry and lightly oiled.
Will my knife look exactly like the photograph?
No. Every Damascus billet is folded and etched by hand, and wood is a natural material with its own grain. Your knife will share the shape, dimensions and build shown, but the steel and handle will be its own.
Is ebony a good handle wood?
Among the best. Ebony is extremely dense and close grained, so it is hard wearing, stable and takes a deep polish with no coating at all. Most pieces are near jet black; some carry faint brown or grey streaking.
