Suited to: people who find most pocket knives too small to be much use. A 4.3 inch blade covers work a two inch folder cannot, such as cutting through a taped carton in one pass, portioning food at a campsite, or dressing small game. The three inch handle keeps the closed knife short enough to pocket.
What the extra blade buys you
Blade length is mostly a question of how many strokes a cut takes. Longer means fewer passes and a cleaner result, especially on anything with a skin or a rind. The cost is presence. This is not a knife that disappears in dress trousers, and it is worth checking your local carry rules on blade length before ordering. Choosing an EDC knife goes through the sizing question properly.
The steel, plainly
VG10 sits high on the stainless list without being difficult to own. It shrugs off moisture the way a kitchen knife has to, and it holds a working edge longer than the soft stainless used in budget folders. Hardened and oil tempered into the 58 to 60 band, it is firm enough to carry a thin edge and not so brittle that a chip is likely. Our page on stainless steel grades compared puts it in context.
Care
Nothing routine. Clean the blade when it gets dirty, dry it, and let the pivot see a drop of oil now and then. Corrosion is not what will go wrong with this knife; a joint packed with dust is. If you carry it loose alongside keys and coins, flush the pivot under a tap every few months and it will keep opening cleanly for years.
Questions people ask

What comes with it? The knife and its hand stitched leather sheath.
Is there a smaller one? The compact King Snake uses the same steel in a shorter package.
Can I get initials on it? Yes, engraving is a checkout option and it is done in house.
