A note on the measurements
The specification table above lists an overall length shorter than the blade length. Those two figures cannot both be right and we are not going to pick one and present it as fact, so we have left lengths out of the description entirely until the knife is re-measured. The weight, the steel, the hardness and the pattern are all confirmed.
Small hands, small knife
Most folders are sized for a large male hand and then sold to everyone. This one is not. The grip is short enough that a smaller hand closes fully around it instead of gripping the front two thirds, which is the difference between control and hanging on. Larger hands will find it a three-finger knife, with the little finger left hanging off the end. That is a genuine limitation rather than a quibble, and it is the single most common reason someone sends one of these back. Filework and the feather pattern
The scalloping along the liner spine is cut by hand with a file, one notch at a time, and it is the slowest part of building this knife. The blade carries three separate figures worked into one billet, which means the steel was drawn, pressed and cut in three different operations before anyone touched a grinder. If the layer count on the table means nothing to you, what 352 layers actually means is a short read. A mother of pearl handled Damascus folder is a lighter, dressier take on the same size class.
After you use it: four ounces of high-carbon steel still rusts like forty. Wipe it down, especially the section of blade that sits inside the handle where you cannot see it. Once a month open it fully, run warm water through the channel, dry it, and add one drop of oil at the pivot. The red wood wants wax, not oil, and it wants it about twice a year.
FAQs
Is the mosaic pin structural? No. It is decorative, set flush into the scale, and it carries no load at all.
Will filework catch on a pocket? It sits on the inside spine, so no.
