Description
Golden Nacre is the most expensive knife in the collection and looks it. Genuine mother of pearl — the iridescent inner layer of the shell — set between polished steel bolsters, with every screw, standoff and the pocket clip itself in brass. Turn it and the handle runs through cream, silver, rose and green.
The blade is a hand-forged Damascus drop point, etched so the layers stand dark against the bright. Liner lock, phosphor bronze washers on both sides of the pivot, and a thumb stud you open by hand — no spring, no flipper.

Built for: collectors, display and gifting — weddings, anniversaries and milestone presents above all. Fully usable as a light everyday folder if you want to carry it.
Care: Damascus is high-carbon steel and will spot if it is put away wet — wipe the blade dry and keep a light film of oil on it. Mother of pearl is natural shell: it is hard but more brittle than wood or Micarta, so avoid knocking the handle against hard edges, and never use solvents or ultrasonic cleaners on it. The brass will darken to a warm patina; polish it if you prefer it bright. Put a drop of light oil on the pivot once or twice a year.
FAQs
Is this knife spring assisted?
No — and that is deliberate. There is no spring and no flipper. You open it with the thumb stud, by hand. What makes it feel quick is the pivot: phosphor bronze washers on both sides of the blade, hand-fitted so the action stays smooth and consistent. A manual knife is also legal in far more places than an assisted one.
What is a liner lock and is it secure?
One side of the steel liner is cut so it springs across behind the blade tang when the knife is fully open, blocking it from closing. To shut it you push the liner aside with your thumb and fold the blade. It is the standard lock on quality folders because it is strong, simple and easy to work one-handed.
Is it sharp out of the box?
Razor sharp. Every blade is hand sharpened and stropped before it is boxed.
Does it come with anything?
Yes — a hand-stitched white leather slip pouch, made in the shop to fit this knife closed. A pouch rather than a belt sheath, which suits a folder that lives in a bag or pocket.
Is this only for women?
No. It is built on a slimmer, shorter frame that suits smaller hands and lighter carry. Buy it on the measurements, not the label.
Is the mother of pearl ethically sourced?
Yes. It is a by-product of the food and pearl-farming industries and involves no protected or endangered species.
Will my knife look exactly like the photograph?
No. Mother of pearl is natural shell — the colour, the direction of the iridescence and the figure differ on every scale — and every Damascus billet etches into its own pattern.
How durable is a pearl handle?
Hard and hard-wearing, but more brittle than wood or Micarta. Treat it as a fine handle material: carry and use the knife, but do not throw it in a toolbox.
