Buy it for: the look, honestly, and then discover it works. It is a competent three inch pocket knife wearing an unusually expensive suit.
An all-steel handle has consequences
Every surface being metal means there is nothing to wear out, nothing to crack in dry air, and nothing to absorb odor. It also means the handle is cold in January, slick when wet, and it will ring against your keys. There is no grip texture beyond the pattern itself. Whether that is a fair trade depends entirely on whether you are carrying this to use or carrying it because you like looking at it. Both are legitimate, and anyone who tells you otherwise has never owned a knife purely because it was beautiful.
Five ounces, and where it goes
Five ounces on a seven inch folder is dense, and all of it is in your hand rather than out at the tip. That makes the knife feel solid and controlled through a cut. It also makes the pocket clip work hard, so check the clip screws every few months; a heavy all-steel folder is the kind most likely to walk out of a loose pocket and land on a hard floor.
The pattern goes all the way through
Because the scales are forged from the same billets as the blade, the figure continues across the whole knife instead of stopping at the bolster line. Our article on how Damascus steel knives are made explains why matching scales to a blade is more work than it sounds. If you want the same size and shape in something far lighter and stainless, the Linen Frost 14C28N wharncliffe folder is the practical counterpoint.
Storage and care: more exposed steel means more surface that can corrode, and the scales get handled far more than a blade ever does. Fingerprints are acidic. Wipe the whole knife, not just the edge, and oil all of it. Do not leave it in a leather pouch for months. Our page on whether Damascus knives rust answers the question people ask about this model more than any other.
FAQs
Is the handle solid steel or steel over liners? Patterned steel scales over steel liners.
Will fingerprints show? Constantly. It is the trade-off for an all-metal knife.
Does the etched pattern wear off the scales? Slowly, at the high points where your palm rides, over years. It can be re-etched.

just got my knife in today. Hands down nicest knife I’ve ever owned. It’s got some weight to it which is great to reinsure I can feel it in my pocket. The layering came out beautiful. The details are exquisite. My wife who was not a fan of me buying it also said it was beautiful. Thanks again. I’ll be sure to recommend your knives.
Sincerely satisfied Nate.
