Meant for: anyone who wants a gay pride knife that is an actual knife. Not a printed handle, not stamped steel, not something picked off a gift rack. The blade is hand forged Damascus at 352 layers and the handle is a poured resin block, stabilised, ground flat and polished until the honeycomb cells sit under a glass smooth surface.

You will not get this exact handle. Every block is poured and stabilised by hand, so the cell pattern and the placement of each colour shift from one knife to the next. Your knife will be the same model, the same size, the same build and the same material, but the colours will run in their own order. The photographs show what the material looks like, not the exact scales that will be boxed for you.

Care: wipe the blade dry after use and put a light film of oil on it. 1095 and 15N20 are carbon steels, so they will spot if left wet. The resin handle needs nothing beyond a wipe and will not move with humidity. Keep the pivot free of grit and it will stay smooth for years.

FAQs

Will my knife look like the photographs? It will be the same knife and the same material, but not the same pattern. Each resin block is poured separately, so the honeycomb and the colour order shift between knives. Everything else is identical.

Is the handle durable, or is it a display piece? It is stabilised resin, which is what it sounds like: the block is cured under pressure so it does not move with heat or humidity the way a natural material can. It is built to be carried, not shelved.

Is the walnut box really free? Yes. It ships in a handmade walnut presentation box at no extra cost. There is no box to tick and nothing to add to the cart.

Can I have it engraved? Yes, using the engraving option above the add to cart button. There is a small fee and the engraving is permanent, so check the spelling before you order.

What is the warranty? Free lifetime craftsmanship warranty. No time limit, no fee and no registration.

Why 352 layers

The blade starts as alternating bars of 1095 and 15N20, forge welded, drawn out and folded until the count reaches 352. 15N20 carries nickel, which resists the acid etch, and that is why the pattern reads as bright lines against dark ones once the blade is finished. Against a full spectrum handle the grey of the steel is what stops the whole thing from looking like a toy.

Why 3 inches

Three inches is the length that stays out of trouble in most places and still does the great majority of what people actually cut. It also means the closed knife is 4.25 inches, short enough to sit flat in a front pocket, while 7.25 inches open still gives a full fisted grip.

How the honeycomb handle is made

Colour is poured cell by cell into a honeycomb lattice, then the whole block is stabilised so the resin cures solid rather than staying soft. Once it is hard the block is cut into scales, shaped to the frame and sanded up through the grits until it polishes clear. The white lines you can see are the lattice walls, which is why the pattern has structure instead of just being swirled colour.

Part of the pride knives collection

This is one of two knives in our pride knives collection. The other is BMK-745: same steel and size, with a working point and a round thumb hole in place of the stud.
