Description
Twin Forge is two tomahawks built as a matched pair — the same maker, the same week, two completely different arguments about what an axe should be.
The pair
| Damascus Rose | Damascus steel head with a twisted rose pattern, polished to a bright mirror. Light hickory haft with a brown leather wrap. |
| Dark Forge | High carbon steel head in a dark matte forge finish with a hand-ground bright bevel. Dark stained ash haft with a black paracord wrap. |
One is the piece you hang on the wall and take down when someone asks what a twisted rose pattern is. The other is the one you actually take to the woodpile. Together they make a display pair that does not need explaining.

Built for: camp work, splitting, carving and throwing — both of them. Neither is a wall ornament pretending to be a tool. The difference is finish and material, not capability.
On the twisted rose pattern: the billet is forged, twisted along its length and then cut and ground back, which brings the layers up as concentric rose-like figures rather than the usual flowing lines. It is one of the harder patterns to get right and it looks different on every head. Yours will not match the photograph exactly.
Care: both heads are high carbon steel and both will rust if left wet. Wipe dry after use and keep a light film of mineral oil on them. The Damascus wants a soft cloth only — abrasives will dull the mirror. The dark forge finish is more forgiving and will patina happily. Oil the hickory and ash once or twice a year. Check both heads for tightness before every session; wood moves with the seasons, and a loose head on any axe is dangerous.
FAQs
Can I buy just one? Yes — pick Damascus Rose or Dark Forge from the dropdown above. The pair is priced below buying them separately.
Are sheaths included? Yes — each tomahawk ships with its own leather head cover, whether you buy one or both.
Hickory or ash — does it matter? Both are traditional axe-handle woods that flex under shock rather than snapping. Hickory is a little denser and heavier; ash is a little livelier in the hand. Neither is a compromise.
Can they be engraved? Yes — add laser engraving before checkout. On the pair, engraving is applied to both.
Make it a gift: add laser engraving at checkout. Every order ships from Memphis, TN with a lifetime warranty — backed by 2,000+ verified 5-star reviews.
