Care: Dry it, then work oil into the pivot and the lock face rather than just the flat. Grit in a liner lock is what makes an action feel rough. A monthly pass with an oiled cloth keeps the etched pattern where it should be.

How does it open? One-handed, off a thumb stud at the base of the blade. Jimping on the liner gives your finger a grip while it comes round.
What is the mix twist pattern? Two different forge treatments in the same billet, so a twisted section runs against a straighter one. It gives the bold sweeping figure you can see across the flat, and it means the two sides of one blade never look quite the same.
What are the scales? Natural sea shell, set into steel liners with a steel bolster and a lanyard hole at the butt.
One-handed opening
A thumb stud and a liner lock are a straightforward combination and they work. Your thumb catches the stud, the blade swings, and the liner springs across behind the tang. The whole thing is done before the knife has left your palm. It is worth breaking the pivot in over the first week or so, because a new folder is always stiffer than a used one. A drop of oil at the pivot and a hundred openings will settle it into the action it will keep.
Shell as a handle material
Shell is cut, ground wet, and fitted slowly, because it will crack under a heavy hand. The iridescence is structural: light interferes between the microscopic layers, which is why the color changes as you turn it and why a photograph never quite captures it. Carry considerations
At 7.5 inches open and 3.5 inches of blade it sits inside the everyday carry limits most places set, and it rides flat rather than tenting a pocket.
