Where it fits: the hands of someone who flips daily and wants a knife that can be stripped, cleaned and put back together without a specialist tool. There is no organic material anywhere on it to swell, crack or stain.
Skeletonized handles
The row of drilled holes down each handle is not styling. Removing metal from the middle of a channel pulls weight toward the pivot end, which shortens the swing and makes the knife quicker to reverse. It also gives dirt somewhere to fall out of instead of packing into a closed channel, so the action stays consistent for longer between cleanings. The trade is noise: a skeletonized handle rings against the blade in a way a panelled one does not, and some owners never get used to it.
D2 held to a mirror
A mirror finish on D2 takes far more work than a satin one, because every scratch shows and the steel is hard enough to fight the belt at every stage. It is also the finish that resists spotting best, since there is no grain for moisture to sit in. D2 holds an edge longer than any plain carbon steel we use and makes you work to get it back, so bring a diamond plate rather than a soft stone.
410 stainless
410 is a martensitic stainless, which means it can be hardened, and that matters on a handle where the latch and the pivot bores take repeated load. A softer handle alloy wears oval at the pivot over a few years of heavy flipping and develops play you cannot tighten out. This one does not.
Living with bare metal
An all-steel knife runs cold in winter and gets slippery when your hands are damp. Some flippers chalk their fingers; most simply accept it. The upside is that cleaning is a rinse and a dry, and there is nothing on the handle you can ruin.
Care
Dry the blade after every session and put a drop at each pivot monthly. The stainless handles need nothing beyond a wipe. If a rattle develops, tighten the pivot screws in small increments and stop the moment the play disappears.

Overall, pleased with the knife. Very sharp out of the box. The box should come with a warning: “Sharp edge. Handle with care” . Sliced my thumb open wiping some oil off the blade. Has good action. The tang pin cups are a bit too large resulting in loose latch lock-up in the open or closed position. The leather sheath that came with the knife is very nicely made. I would have preferred adjustable/removable pivot pins like what’s pictured rather than the hidden pins. The overall look is cleaner with the hidden pins but I like to be able to adjust the pivots as the pivots tend to loosen up with use and I won’t be able to adjust it as needed. Still, I am very pleased with the knife especially with the fairly quick turn-around time and the price. Any of my nitpicking will be addressed with my next order which I plan on doing soon.
