Carried by: people who want a pocket knife that looks like it was made by a person, not pressed out of a die. It is 6.5 inches open and 4.5 oz, which is enough knife to break down a shipping box without being the heaviest thing you are carrying. The thumb stud is set so you can open it one-handed with the knife still in the pocket line.

Care: the brass liners will darken over months, which most owners leave alone; if you want them bright, a little metal polish on a cloth brings them back without touching the blade. The dark wood scales prefer paste wax to oil, once or twice a year. The blade is high carbon, so wipe it after cutting anything acidic and keep a film of oil on it if the knife is going into storage rather than into a pocket.

Filework you can see and feel

Fold the knife shut, look along its back, and there is a scalloped file pattern cut into the exposed liner. It is filed by hand, one notch at a time, and it is the sort of detail that takes an hour and cannot be added later. It also gives your thumb something to register against when you are closing the blade. The bolsters are cut from the same Damascus bar as the blade, so the figure continues from steel to steel across the pivot rather than stopping at it, which is the detail a photograph rarely captures and the hand always notices.

Living with a clip carry folder

A clip changes how a knife behaves. It stays put, stays oriented and stays out of the lint, but it also collects pocket grit at the pivot. Ten minutes with warm water and a toothbrush twice a year is the whole maintenance story, and we walk through it in routine folder cleaning.

Grind and geometry

The blade is a drop point with a shallow hollow behind the edge, which is why it feels keen out of proportion to its size. Bevel choice is not cosmetic; it decides whether a knife slices or wedges. See pocket knife bevels explained for the comparison. If you would rather have stainless and no upkeep at all, the VG10 stainless folding knife covers the same job with a different steel.

FAQs

Is the clip removable? It is screwed on rather than riveted.

Does it lock open? Yes, and it should be closed deliberately with the blade away from your fingers.

What ships in the box? Knife plus the carry leather named in the table, boxed ready to give.
