Personalized Wedding Sword Gift

Engraved swords made for weddings, from cake-cutting ceremonies to groomsmen presentations. Damascus and stainless blades both hold laser engraving well, so names, wedding dates and short quotes come out crisp along the blade or on the scabbard. Most pieces arrive with a fitted scabbard and can be shipped directly to a venue if you are coordinating for a wedding party. Engraving is done before dispatch, so allow extra time before the date when ordering.

What a wedding sword is actually for

Two jobs, and they are different. The cake sword is used on the day: it is long, decorative, and the photographs of it are the reason it exists. The ceremonial or presentation sword is not used at all; it is engraved with the names and the date and hung on a wall, and it is the piece that is still there at the twentieth anniversary. Decide which one you are buying before you look at the pictures.

Every sword here is hand-forged, engraved before dispatch and delivered in a presentation box. For a cake sword we leave the edge keen enough to cut cleanly and the tip rounded, because nobody wants a point at that table.

Wedding sword questions

What is a wedding cake sword? A long decorative blade made for cutting the cake and keeping afterwards. Engraved with the couple’s names and the wedding date, it ends up on a wall rather than in a drawer.

Can the sword be engraved with our names and date? Yes, engraved in our own shop before dispatch. Names and a date fit comfortably on the blade; longer messages shrink to the point where nobody reads them.

Is the sword sharp? Sharp enough to cut a cake cleanly, with a rounded tip. Say the word and we will finish it blunt for display only.

How far in advance should we order? A fortnight at minimum for engraving, and longer in wedding season. Tell us the date and we will be straight with you.

Is a sword a good wedding gift from someone else? Yes, and it is the standard gift when the couple already have everything for the house. Give it with a coin taped to the box; the old superstition about blades cutting a bond is settled by the recipient handing back a penny.

Can it be shipped to a venue? Yes within the US. Give us the venue address and a date and we will time the delivery.
