A sword is the groomsman gift that does not end up in a drawer. These are hand-forged Damascus blades made in our own Memphis workshop, not decorative wall pieces stamped out of mystery steel, and every one can carry a name, a date or the wedding party on the blade.

For a wedding party, order them as a set. We engrave the whole run in one setup, which is why a set of six costs considerably less per sword than six ordered separately. Tell us the names and the date and they arrive ready to hand out.

What to know before you order

  • Lead time. Two to three weeks for engraved swords, longer for a large party. Order with a month in hand and you will not be watching the tracking page.
  • Engraving. $29 per blade, cut in our own shop. Names, initials, the wedding date, or a line the groom will actually laugh at.
  • Cake cutting. The 32 inch Samurai and the 34 inch Officer are the two people use for the cake. Both take an edge and both photograph well.
  • Budget. Swords run $84 to $625. If a full set of swords is more than the budget allows, an engraved pocket knife or bowie does the same job for a fraction of it.

Ordering six or more? Use the bulk and corporate page and we will quote the run by hand. Want something that is not on this page at all — a particular length, a specific handle, a crest on the blade? Build it on the custom order page or draw it and we will price it.

Please check your local law before ordering.

Swords for groomsmen make a gift that outlasts the wedding day. We engrave each blade, so groomsmen swords can carry a name, a date or a line from the speech – ask us about matching sets for the whole party.

Why a sword, and when it is the wrong call

A sword for the groomsmen is a big swing. It lands when the wedding already has that flavour, when the party is small enough that the cost makes sense, or when it is the best man alone and everyone else gets a knife. It does not land when six men who live in apartments each go home with a blade they have nowhere to put. Be honest about which wedding you are planning.

Every sword here is hand-forged and engraved before dispatch, and arrives in a presentation box rather than a cardboard tube. Names, the wedding date, or the party role go on the blade. For a full party we cut them together so the pattern and finish match across the set.

Groomsmen sword questions

Are groomsmen swords a real thing or a novelty? Real, and increasingly common at weddings with a ceremonial element. They are also the standard best man gift when the rest of the party is getting knives.

Can each sword be engraved differently? Yes. A different name on each, cut before dispatch, at the standard engraving fee per piece.

Do you price a set differently? Yes, from four upward. Ask before ordering and we will quote the set.

How much notice do you need for a wedding party? More than for a single knife. Give us a fortnight at minimum and tell us the wedding date so we can be straight with you.

Is a sword safe to ship and to give? Yes within the US, boxed and blunted at the tip on request. Check your recipient’s state rules if you are shipping onward.

What if I want one sword for the best man and knives for the rest? That is the most common order we get. Ask and we will match the engraving style across both so the set reads as one gift.
