Description
Hazel Drift is the one to start with. A clean D2 drop point on a slim walnut handle with copper pins, sized so it sits properly in a smaller hand instead of hanging out of it. The drop point is the most useful blade shape there is — strong tip, long belly, good at everything.
Walnut is warm, light and close-grained, and the copper pins go a soft rose colour as they age. The sheath is white full-grain leather, hand stitched and moulded to this blade.

Built for: everyday carry, camp and kitchen work, hiking, foraging and general utility cutting. A first proper knife, or a lighter one to carry alongside a bigger fixed blade.
Care: D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel — highly rust resistant but not rust proof. Wipe the blade dry after use and oil it lightly before long storage. Wipe the wood clean with a damp cloth and rub in a little wood wax or oil two or three times a year so it does not dry out. Keep the white leather sheath out of prolonged wet and do not store the knife inside it for long periods.
FAQs
Is this knife only for women?
No. It is built on a smaller handle with a lighter, thinner blade, which suits smaller hands and lighter carry — a lot of people prefer that regardless. Buy it on grip size and blade length rather than on the label.
Is the white leather sheath practical?
Yes. It is full-grain leather, hand stitched and moulded to this blade. Like any pale leather it will mark and mellow with handling; most owners think that improves it. Keep it out of prolonged wet and it will last for years.
Is the blade full size and full strength?
Yes. Smaller does not mean lighter duty — same steel, same heat treatment, same hand sharpening as every other knife we make. It is a small knife, not a toy.
Why a drop point?
The spine curves down to the tip, so the point stays strong and low and the edge keeps a long useful belly. It is the shape that does the most jobs well — slicing, food prep, cordage, light game work.
Will my knife look exactly like the photograph?
Close, but not identical — wood is a natural material and every handle has its own grain and colour.
