Where it fits: a pocket, all day, without you thinking about it. At 3.5 oz this is the lightest folder we make in this blade length, and the difference between 3.5 oz and 8 oz is the difference between carrying a knife every day and leaving it in a drawer.
Three and a half ounces
That number is the whole argument for this knife. Micarta is resin-impregnated cloth, so it is strong for its density and it does not add mass the way a horn or metal handle does. The steel bolster is kept short — enough to protect the pivot and the ends of the scales, not so much that it undoes the weight saving.
The drop point
The spine curves down to meet the edge, which lowers the tip and puts it in line with your hand. That is why drop points dominate every category where control matters: the tip goes where you point your knuckles, and there is enough belly behind it to slice properly.
The clip
The clip is set for tip-up carry, which means the blade sits at the bottom of your pocket and the opening end is at the top, closest to your thumb. With a knife this light you can also drop it loose in a pocket and forget it is there.
Balance in the pocket
Because so little of the weight is in the handle, this folder sits high and stays put rather than swinging as you walk. That is the practical difference a light knife makes over a day, and it is why people who own several tend to reach for this one.
Blade and handle in equal parts

Care: the blade is high-carbon pattern-welded steel and will take a patina if you let it sit damp, so dry it before you fold it. Once a month, work the pivot open and closed with a drop of light oil in the joint and wipe the blade with the same oil. Micarta itself needs nothing at all — soap and water is fine.
