Description
Moss Talon is the one that disappears into the treeline. Olive green micarta with the linen weave still showing through the resin, a stone washed D2 blade in flat matte grey, and gold stainless screws as the only thing on the knife that catches light. It is the tracker for people who would rather their gear did not announce itself.

Built for: hard field use over long trips. The forward belly chops and skins, the straight section behind it carves feather sticks, and the sawback spine notches wood and throws sparks off a ferro rod. Micarta is the handle material to pick when the knife will be wet, cold and covered in whatever you were just processing — it grips better dirty than most materials do clean, and a quarter inch of D2 underneath means you can baton without a second thought.
Care: the micarta needs soap and water and nothing else. D2 is semi-stainless — dry the blade after use and wipe a light coat of mineral oil over it monthly. The stone washed finish is the low-maintenance choice: it hides scratches, does not show a patina, and looks better after a season of use than it did new. Store the knife outside the leather sheath.
FAQs
Micarta or G10 in olive green? We build both. Micarta is canvas or linen laminated with resin — slightly warmer in the hand, with a visible weave. G10 is fibreglass and resin — slightly harder and more chemical resistant. For a bushcraft knife either is a good answer; micarta is the traditional one.
What is a Tom Brown style tracker knife? The multi-purpose survival profile popularised by tracker and survival instructor Tom Brown Jr. — a deep chopping belly forward, a straight utility section behind it, and a sawback spine, all on one thick blade. This is our handmade interpretation, not a licensed original.
Why stone washed rather than polished? No glare, and it hides use. A mirror blade flashes in sunlight and shows every fingerprint; stone washed does neither. Same steel and edge — it is purely about where the knife will spend its time.
What’s included? The knife, its black leather tracker sheath, and a gift-ready box.
