What it is for: collections, wall mounts, display cases, and the kind of camp chore that rewards mass. Splitting kindling, clearing brush, breaking down a carcass in the open. At 29.9 oz you are not wearing this on a belt all day and you should not plan to. Think of it the way you think of an axe: it lives in the truck or on the wall and comes out for specific jobs.
Two pounds changes the physics
Weight is the entire point at this size. A heavy blade does the cutting for you on the downstroke and you steer it rather than drive it. That is why big bowies chop and small ones do not. Stabilized Amboyna and how it ages
Amboyna burl is figured and unstable raw. Stabilizing forces resin through the cell structure under vacuum, which stops it moving with humidity and makes it effectively waterproof. Dyed and stabilized burl holds color well indoors but will fade if it sits in a sunlit window for years, so hang it on a shaded wall. The polished guard and spacers show fingerprints immediately and water spots if left wet. A microfiber cloth handles both.

Anyone who wants a hunting knife they can wear. Anyone whose city or state sets a blade-length limit for carry, because thirteen inches clears most of them. Care and storage: the blade is high-carbon and will spot within days in humid air. Dry it after handling, because fingerprints alone are enough to start a mark on a polished flat. Before long storage, wipe on a film of gun oil or camellia oil and leave the knife on a rack or in a case rather than in its leather, which draws moisture toward the steel. The stabilized wood needs nothing at all.

Is it full tang? Our spec sheet says nothing about tang construction here, and we would rather stay silent than guess. Ask and we will check the piece before it ships.
Will it arrive sharp? Yes. A knife this size is sharpened conservatively, because a fine edge on a thirteen-inch blade chips when it meets a knot.
Can it ship internationally? Blade-length rules vary widely by country. Check your own import rules first, as we cannot advise on them.
