Description
Scarlet Fang is the one that stops people. A hand-forged Damascus hawkbill, etched so the layers run in long feathered waves down the curve, mounted on black G10 with a thin red line of liner showing at the edge of every scale. The finger ring is finished black so nothing competes with the blade.
It is a real karambit, not a wall piece. The inward-facing edge draws material into the cut, and the ring locks the knife to your hand whatever the weather. Damascus here is decoration on top of a working geometry, not instead of one.

Built for: everyday carry, collectors, and gifting — birthdays, groomsmen and milestone presents. It is also perfectly usable for rope, cord, webbing and general utility work.
Care: Damascus is a high-carbon steel and will spot or patina if it is put away wet. Wipe the blade dry after every use and keep a light film of mineral or camellia oil on it, which also keeps the etched pattern crisp. Micarta and G10 need almost nothing — soap and water and they are done. Check the handle screws are snug now and then. Do not store the knife inside the leather sheath for long periods.
FAQs
What is a karambit knife used for?
It started as a farming tool in Southeast Asia — the curved blade follows the shape of a tiger claw and was used for cutting roots, twine and rope. Today it is carried as a utility and self-defence knife: the hook shape pulls material into the edge instead of pushing it away, so it cuts rope, cord, webbing, boxes and hide with very little force.
What is the finger ring for?
Retention. Your index finger goes through the ring, so the knife cannot be pulled or knocked out of your hand even with wet or gloved hands, and you can let go of the grip entirely without dropping it. It also lets you switch between forward and reverse grip in one movement.
Is the leather sheath included?
Yes. The black leather sheath with a brass stud and contrast stitching shown in the photograph is moulded to this blade. It ships with the knife at no extra cost.
Is a karambit legal to carry?
It is treated as an ordinary fixed blade in most places, but blade-length and carry rules vary widely by state and country, and a few jurisdictions restrict curved or ring-handled knives specifically. Check your local law before carrying it.
Can I actually use a Damascus knife, or is it for show?
Use it. The pattern comes from forge-welding different steels together; the finished blade is hardened, ground and sharpened like any other working knife. It simply asks to be kept dry and lightly oiled.
Will my knife look exactly like the photograph?
No. Every Damascus billet is folded and etched by hand, so the pattern is different on every blade. Your knife will share the shape, dimensions and build shown, but the steel will be its own.
What are the red liners?
Thin sheets of red fiber sandwiched between the scales and the tang. They seal the joint, add a line of contrast against the black G10, and stiffen the handle slightly — a traditional custom-knife detail.
