Description
Golden Timber is the Tom Brown tracker with the hardware turned up. Same quarter-inch D2 spine, same stone washed matte grey blade that refuses to flash in the sun — but the walnut scales are pinned with gold stainless screws and a mosaic pin, and against dark grain that reads as jewellery rather than fittings. It is the version people pick up first off the bench.

Built for: the camp where one blade has to earn its place. Chop and skin on the forward belly, carve feather sticks on the straight section behind it, notch wood and throw sparks off a ferro rod with the sawback spine. At a quarter inch thick you can baton seasoned hardwood and the knife will not care.
Care: D2 is semi-stainless — it outlasts most stainless steels on edge retention but it will spot if you leave it wet. Dry the blade after use, wipe a light film of mineral oil over it once a month, and keep the knife out of the sheath in storage. The gold screws want nothing more than an occasional dry cloth; the stone washed finish only looks better as it picks up honest wear.
FAQs
What makes this a Tom Brown style tracker? The profile — a deep chopping belly forward, a straight utility section behind it, and a sawback spine, all on one thick blade. Tracker and survival instructor Tom Brown Jr. popularised the design as a single knife that covers chopping, carving, skinning and fire prep. This is our handmade interpretation, not a licensed original.
Are the gold screws plated or solid? They are stainless steel with a gold-tone finish, chosen so the hardware holds its colour against sweat and weather instead of dulling like raw brass.
How is this different from the Timber Fang? Identical steel, geometry and dimensions — the Timber Fang wears plain steel hardware, Golden Timber wears the gold. Pick on looks alone.
What’s included? The knife, its black leather tracker sheath, and a gift-ready box.
