Description
Five Tom Brown trackers, one bench, one afternoon. The Trail Legion is the whole run — same quarter-inch D2, same tracker geometry, five different handles because nobody agrees on what a knife should feel like. Take the one that speaks to you, or take all five and stop pretending you were ever going to choose.

Built for: one knife doing four jobs. The forward belly chops and skins, the straight section behind it carves feather sticks and handles fine work, and the sawback spine notches wood and throws sparks off a ferro rod. At a quarter inch thick you can baton hardwood without thinking twice about it.
Stone washed or mirror polished? Stone washed is the field finish — flat matte, no glare, hides scratches and patina so honest wear only improves it. Mirror polished is the display finish — hand-worked to a bright reflective surface that shows every line of the grind, and shows fingerprints just as faithfully. Same steel, same edge, same heat treat. Pick on where the knife will spend its life.
Care: D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel — it holds a working edge far longer than 1095 or 440C, but it is not rust-proof. Wipe the blade dry after use, run a light coat of mineral oil over it monthly, and store the knife outside the leather sheath. Micarta and G10 handles want nothing more than soap and water; the wood handles like a rub of oil once or twice a year.
FAQs
Can I buy just one? Yes — choose a single handle from the dropdown above. The full set of five is there too, priced below buying them one at a time.
What is a Tom Brown style tracker knife? The multi-purpose survival profile popularised by tracker and survival instructor Tom Brown Jr. — a deep chopping belly forward, a straight utility section behind it, and a sawback spine, all on one thick blade. One knife that covers chopping, carving, skinning and fire prep. These are our handmade interpretations of that design, not licensed originals.
Micarta or wood — which lasts longer? Micarta. It is linen or canvas laminated with resin: waterproof, dimensionally stable, grippier when wet, and it will not swell or crack. Rosewood and walnut are the better-looking option and perfectly durable with a little care — they just prefer not to live in a wet pack.
Does the set come in one box? Yes — all five knives, five leather tracker sheaths, packed together gift-ready.
Can they be engraved? Yes — add laser engraving before checkout. On the set, engraving is applied to each knife.
