Description
Night Raptor is the modern build. A D2 hawkbill in a matte black coating that gives back no light at all, bolted to olive green G10 scales cut with deep finger grooves. Nothing on it shines, nothing on it slips, and the whole handle comes apart with a driver when you want to clean it.
The curve is a true karambit hawkbill with an integral finger ring. The inward-facing edge draws material into the cut, which is why the pattern goes through rope, cord, seatbelt webbing and packaging with so little effort.

Built for: everyday carry, tactical and rescue use, camp and utility cutting, and self-defence training. G10 is the handle to choose if the knife lives in a pocket, pack or vehicle.
Care: D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel — highly rust resistant but not rust proof. Wipe the blade dry after use and oil it lightly before long storage. The coating protects the flats, but the cutting edge is bare steel — dry and oil it. Avoid abrasive pads on the finish. Micarta and G10 need almost nothing — soap and water and they are done. Check the handle screws are snug now and then. Do not store the knife inside the leather sheath for long periods.
FAQs
What is a karambit knife used for?
It started as a farming tool in Southeast Asia — the curved blade follows the shape of a tiger claw and was used for cutting roots, twine and rope. Today it is carried as a utility and self-defence knife: the hook shape pulls material into the edge instead of pushing it away, so it cuts rope, cord, webbing, boxes and hide with very little force.
What is the finger ring for?
Retention. Your index finger goes through the ring, so the knife cannot be pulled or knocked out of your hand even with wet or gloved hands, and you can let go of the grip entirely without dropping it. It also lets you switch between forward and reverse grip in one movement.
Is the leather sheath included?
Yes. The tan leather sheath with a brass stud shown in the photograph is moulded to this blade. It ships with the knife at no extra cost.
Is a karambit legal to carry?
It is treated as an ordinary fixed blade in most places, but blade-length and carry rules vary widely by state and country, and a few jurisdictions restrict curved or ring-handled knives specifically. Check your local law before carrying it.
What is G10 and how does it compare to Micarta?
G10 is woven fibreglass set in resin — harder and slightly more rigid than canvas Micarta, completely waterproof, and unaffected by oil, solvent or temperature. Both are excellent; G10 has a crisper texture and holds a machined pattern better.
Will the black coating wear off?
It will wear brighter at the high spots over years of hard use, which is normal on any coated blade. It cannot flake or peel, and the coating is there for glare control and corrosion resistance rather than looks alone.
