Why stag photographs badly and sells anyway
Stag is natural antler, and no two pieces carry the same ridges or the same shade, so a single product photograph can only ever show one piece. The one you receive will share the character and not the exact pattern, because every insert is cut from a different piece. Buyers who understand this in advance are consistently happier with the knife than with the photograph, which is an unusual way round and is most of why this model repeats.
Stainless frame with a stag insert
Bright stainless next to brown antler is a harder, more graphic pairing than warm metal next to the same material. A warm frame shares tone with the stag and blurs the boundary. Care: stag is natural antler, so heat and long immersion will dry it out and can crack the surface. Wipe with a damp cloth, dry it, keep it out of hot water. The blade is semi-stainless, so a wipe after handling and an occasional light oil is enough unless you live somewhere salty, in which case treat it as you would a plain carbon blade.

Can I choose the piece of stag? No. Inserts are matched to what is on the bench when the knife is built, so the shade and ridges will differ a little from the photo.
