Marine Corps Knives Archives

Fixed blades and utility knives built for Marine Corps service and veterans. This collection centres on the KA-BAR pattern that the Corps has carried since World War II, alongside kukris, machetes and trench-knife designs that suit field work. Blades are full tang, ground for prying resistance as well as cutting, and paired with leather or kydex sheaths that sit properly on a belt. Many pieces can be engraved with a unit, rank or EGA emblem, which makes them common choices for promotions, retirements and Semper Fi gifts.

What Marines actually carried, and what we make

The knife most people picture when they think Marine Corps is the 1219C2 fighting utility knife adopted in 1942, better known by the name of the company that first made it. Seven inch clip point, leather washer handle, stacked and pinned, oval guard. It stayed in service through Korea, Vietnam and beyond because the pattern is close to unimprovable for what it does.

We are not a defence contractor and we do not sell issue equipment. What we make are hand-forged knives in those patterns, in Damascus, D2 and high carbon steel, for Marines, veterans and the people buying for them. Forged, ground and finished in our own American shop.

Engraving for a promotion, a retirement or an EAS

Most of these leave the shop engraved. Rank, unit, dates of service, or the EGA and a name. Twenty characters is the working limit and restraint reads better on steel: a name and two dates still looks right in forty years, a paragraph does not. Engraving is a paid option chosen before checkout and it is done before the piece is boxed.

Is this the knife the Marine Corps issues? No. We are not a defence contractor and these are not issue items. They are hand-forged knives built in the same patterns, for Marines and veterans and the people buying gifts for them.

What knife do Marines actually carry? Historically the 1219C2 fighting utility pattern: a seven inch clip point with a stacked leather handle and an oval guard, adopted in 1942 and still the shape everyone pictures. Modern kit varies by role.

Can you engrave rank and unit? Yes, up to 20 characters. Rank, unit, service dates or a name. Cut before the knife is finished and boxed.

What steel should I choose for a service gift? D2 or 440C if it will be carried and used. Damascus if it will be displayed or handed down, since the pattern is the point and it wants drying and a wipe of oil.

Does it come with a sheath? Every fixed blade ships with a hand-stitched leather belt sheath, wet-formed to that specific blade.

Are these made in the USA? Forged, ground, heat treated and sheathed in our own American shop, not assembled from imported blanks.
